President Wang Ping and First Vice President Wang Min Gang Being Invited To Attend The Silk Road Investment Forum Held In Xi'an and Delivering A Lecture

 

The first session of Silk Road Investment Forum, which is sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme, the Shang Hai Cooperation Organization Secretariat and the People’s Government of Xi'an Municipality, and launched by other national and international agencies together, such as the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the World Tourism Organization, was inaugurated on July 10 2006 in the ancient city of Xi'an. The leaders coming from the government departments of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China, and the officials, experts, and representatives of entrepreneurs from seventeen countries, such as Russia, United States, India, Mongolia, Poland, also the officials of United Nation’s related agencies. More than 300 attended the forum. The UN. Resident Coordinator and the Resident Representative of UNDP. in China Ma He Li, and the Director General of National Tourism Administration Shao Qi Wei, also sat in on the forum.

 

The forum revolves around the new business opportunities of Silk Road. It is the first time for the United Nations to introduce and recommend the Silk Road as the whole to the international society.

 

President Wang Ping and First Vice President Wang Min Gang were invited to attend the forum.

 

As a well-known entrepreneur from Honking, the First Vice President Wang Min Gang began to invest in the fields of culture industry and hotel industry along the lines of Silk Road about 10 years ago. He devoted himself to the exploitation of cultural resources. As the host of the sub-forum, "The Industry Strategy on Silk Road", Wang Min Gang first delivered a lecture. He set forth some deep thinking on problems which appeared in the course of his investigation on the Silk Road, and gave some advice on the future exploitation of its cultural resources. President Wang Ping later delivered another lecture. As the representative of Non-public Ownership Tourism Economy, she put forward many opinions on the exploitation and culture construction of Silk Road. Wang Ping and Wang Min Gang‘s speaking was well received by attendees. Several local media immediately made an interview with President Wang Ping during the rest period of the meeting. President Wang Ping said, “In the process of the Great Western Development, the Chamber of Tourism of All-China Federation of Industry Commerce will mobilize domestic and overseas entrepreneurs to invest in the tourism market in areas of Silk Road”. At the same time the Chamber also committed itself to the economic development work to remake the splendent Silk Road. She also indicated that the Non-public Ownership Tourism Economy can make their own contributions to the development of economically underdeveloped regions.

 

“The New Silk Road” takes the ancient Silk Road as its backbone, with its eastern end in Lian Yun Gang Harbor of China, and western end in Rotterdam of The Netherlands. It is 7000 miles long, and transverses Eurasia. It is an economic corridor with the longest span and the most developmental potential in the world.
